Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng signed on May 8 a dispatch to religious organizations guiding religious activities in the current context of the nCov pandemic in the country.
In the dispatch, the GCRA requested leaders of the religious organizations to observe the Prime Minister’s conclusion at the meeting on Covid-19 prevention and control on May 8.
Accordingly, the GCRA asked religious leaders to guide religious practices to be resumed as normal while ensuring preventive measures against Covid-19 pandemic. Foreign and overseas Vietnamese religious followers in foreign countries, especially in pandemic zones, should refrain from migrating into Vietnam. All migrants should be quarantined at established centers for 14 days as regulated.
Clinics run by religious organizations are allowed to reopen and offer medical treatment to the disadvantaged and local residents.
The GCRA also encouraged religious organizations to introduce tourist -spiritual sites on their websites suiting practical conditions of the pandemic for welcoming domestic visitors and preparing to receive international visitors in an appropriate time when the Vietnam Government reopens international tourists.
