Religious organizations in Binh Dinh province have actively responded to the coordination program signed between the provincial fatherland front committee and the natural resource and environment department for environmental protection and climate change adaptation in the 2015-2020 period.
The program’s contents has been implemented in each Catholic parish in the province through activities for keeping the environmental surroundings clean. Local Catholic dignitaries have proactively promoted their leading roles for persuading local parishioners to classify and discharge rubbish properly. Go Thi parish in the province’s Tuy Phuoc district has also motivated local Catholics to adapt environmental-friendly lifestyles in order to prevent deforestation and mass killings of species.
The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s chapter in the province has incorporated contents for environmental protection into annual working programs and religious training courses of Buddhist training institutions and executive boards. In addition, grassroots Buddhist organizations have also launched activities for collecting garbage and planting trees, such as Thien Buu pagoda located in Phu Cat district planted 15,000 Eucalyptus trees for preventing soil erosion and forestation.
It’s been accessed that most religious dignitaries and followers in Binh Dinh have proactively responded to the launching program for environmental protection and climate change adaptation as it well matched with teachings of all religions in the locality.
