Provincial authorities of Long An extend congregation to local Buddhists on Vesak Day

A delegation from concerning departments and agencies of Long An province paid on May 17 visits to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in the province and districts of Long An ahead of Vesak Day.

The delegation was led by Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Phạm Ngọc Tiệp and joint by representatives of the provincial religious committee and mass mobilization commission

During the visiting receptions, the provincial VFF leader extended best wishes to local Buddhists on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday, known as Vesak Day, 2018 (B.E. 2562) and took the chance to hail practical contributions by Buddhist monks, nuns and followers to socio-economic development in the locality.

On behalf of Buddhist dignitaries and followers in Long An, Most Venerable Thích Minh Thiện, Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province, thanked provincial authorities for their due attention and support to Buddhist practices in the province. He also stated that Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the province would continue promoting fine values and traditions of Vietnam Buddhism for social development and prosperity in the province.
