The Security and Defense Education Council in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province in collaboration with the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee held in July meetings for fostering knowledge of security and defense for nearly 1,000 Buddhist monks and nuns in the province.
The events have taken place in Dai Tong Lam Pagoda, Ngoc Thanh Buddhist monastery in Phu My town and Lien Tri Pagoda in Vung Tau city.
The gatherings introduced key contents on the Party’s guidelines and policies on foreign affairs and the army’s tasks, and practical contributions by religions for national construction and protection, and highlighted the awareness for prevention and fight against bad hostile and rhetoric aimed at dividing people solidarity, and responsibilities and roles of Buddhist monastics in the national construction and defense.
