Secretary of Soc Trang province Party committee Phan Văn Sáu paid on April 6 visits to local prestigious Khmer people ahead of their traditional New Year festival - Chol Chnam Thmay.
The provincial party leader met and extended traditional New Year greetings to several retired officials, Buddhist dignitaries and policy beneficiary families of Khmer community in Soc Trang provincial city and Long Phu district.
During the visit to Khleang pagoda located in Soc Trang city, Secretary Phan Văn Sáu conveyed greetings to Most Venerable Abbot of Khleang pagoda Tăng Nô, monks of the pagoda and local Khmer Buddhists. The secretary also expressed hope that Khmer people in the locality would continue to uphold fine traditions and actively participate in movements for the socio-economic development of the province.
