The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in Yen Bai province held on June 28 a meeting on social contributions of local religious organizations during the 2019 – 2024 period.
Presenting certificates of commendation to outstanding religious organizations
The event saw the presence of 30 religious dignitaries and lay followers in the locality.
During the gathering, the provincial the provincial VFF presented certificates of commendation to 30 outstanding religious in social activities during 2019-2024 period.
As reported at the event, Yen Bai province has currently three operative religions of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism, with over 79,000 followers living in 143 out of 173 communes and wards, accounting for 9.3% the provincial population.
During the 2019-2024, religious dignitaries and lay followers in the province have proactively actively joint in social movements and programs launched by local authorities with many practical results.
In addition, local religious dignitaries and followers have actively engaged in building the cultural life, promoting education, improving healthcare, etc with many achievements. In response to the movement “All people unite to build cultural life”, 100% villages and hamlets in religious areas have registered as cultural villages and hamlets and 98% households have earned the cultural family title. Religious followers in the province have contributed financial assistance, working days and other practical supports with total the total value amount of billions VND for helping the disadvantaged in the locality.
