No brawling, jostling during festival seasons 2023

The Grassroots Culture Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued on January 31 a dispatch asking provincial-level culture, sports and tourism departments to strengthen the state administration on festivals 2023.

Accordingly, all festivals 2023 should take place in solemn and economical manners, promote and preserve traditional values, and observe legal provisions, as well as prevent actions that take advantage of festivals for personal gain or to serve group interests such as superstitious activities, gambling, beggars, money exchange services, votive paper burning, installing merit money boxes, etc.

The document also requests the implementation of measures to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic under guidance of the Ministry of Health during the festival season 2023, enhance surveillance and promptly respond to epidemic risks in all situations.

In addition, the management, financial collection, and expenditure for the festival organization shall be implemented according to the Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BTC dated January 19, 2023 of the Ministry of Finance guiding the management of financial revenue and expenditure for festival organization and merit money, funding for monuments and festival activities./.
