Lai Chau ready for 3rd Mong Ethnic Cultural Festival 2021

The organizing board of Mong Ethnic Cultural Festival in Lai Chau province held on October 20 a meeting on preparations of the festival in December.  

Accordingly, the festival, co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Lai Chau province will take place on December 24-26 with the participation of 14 provinces where the Mong ethnic minority people reside.

The festival titled “Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Mong people in equality, solidarity, integration and development” will include diverse activities such as art performances of the Mong ethnic group, a show of ethnic clothes, introduction of cultural and tourism products, and an exhibition on the Mong ethnic culture, sports competition, etc.

It will be an opportunity for participating provinces to learn, exchange experiences, raise awareness for all levels, branches and ethnic minorities to be aware of their responsibility in building and developing the Vietnamese culture and people, as well as introducing the traditional cultural values of the Mong ethnic group to domestic and international friends, contributing to promote tourism and economic development.

To date, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised Lai Chau provincial People’s Committee to send documents to the provinces participating in the festival, assigned tasks to sub-committees on contents, security, and implemented preparation work for the festival, including Covid-19 prevention measures.
