Kon Tum authorities held on April 26 an online meeting to review the three-year implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree 162 in the province.
Attending the event included Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People Council Nguyễn Văn Hòa, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lê Ngọc Tuấn and heads of the district and commune level authorities.
According to the meeting’s report, on the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion enacted in 2016 and its guiding decree from 2018 to 2020, local authorities have well disseminated the new religious law to local officials, cadres, religious dignitaries, deacons and followers in the province, solved practical issues for better meeting legitimate needs of religious organizations, as well as created favorable conditions for religious organizations to operate in accordance with the Church’s Charter and State laws. In addition, local authorities have also held regular exchange meetings with religious dignitaries, deacons and followers in the province in order to timely understand their legitimate needs of religious practices in the locality.
