Kon Tum authorities extend Tet greetings local religious organizations

A delegation of Kon Tum authorities led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hữu Tháp visited on February 2 religious places in the province ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.   

Joining the delegation included Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Department Nguyễn Thành Trung and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Quang Dũng.

During the visit, the delegation met with Most Venerable Thích Quảng Xả, Vice President of the VBS Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee in the province; Bishop Alonso Nguyễn Hùng Vị of Kon Tum diocese; pastors of the Vietnam United Mission Church’s Executive Committee; representative leaders of Kon Tum parish under the Tay Ninh Caodai Church and Hoa Binh parish under the Cau Kho Tam Quan Caodai Church in the province.

During the visiting receptions, while extending a new year of peace and happiness to the religious dignitaries and all members of religious organizations in Kon Tum, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Hữu Tháp spoke highly of contributions made by local religious people for the socio-economic development in the locality over the past years.

He also asked local religious organizations to strictly observe preventive measures against the Covid-19 pandemic as guided by the Government and local authorities, as well as encourage religious people to proactively participate in local social movements and programs launched in the locality.
