The People’s Committee of Thai Binh provine’s Vu Thu district held on October 26 the opening ceremony for Keo pagoda’s autumn festival 2020.
Attending the event were Mr. Phạm Đồng Thụy, Deputy Head of the Organization Board under the provincial Party’s Committee, representatives from the district authorities, and large numbers of Buddhist followers, locals and visitors.

Traditionally, Keo has annual spring and autumn festivals. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the flooding in the Central region, the autumn festival 2020 was scaled down, including love duets singing on boats and folk games.
However, festival’s organizing board has paid due attention for ensuring the security, food safety and fire protection, and preventing superstition activities.
Keo pagoda (Than Quang pagoda) is located in Duy Nhat commune of Vu Thu district and was recognized as a special national relic. The pagoda has two architectural areas: the pagoda for worshiping Buddha and the temple for worshiping Duong Khong Lo, a great monk from the Ly dynasty who founded the pagoda.
The pagoda’s autumn festival 2020 scheduled to last through October 31 (the 15th of the nine Lunar month).
