The committee for religious affairs of the central province of Quang Binh had on November 3 a working meeting on the implementation of laws on religion in the province’s Dong Hoi provincial city.
The event was co-chaired by Chairman of the provincial religious committee Trần Đức Thủy and Chairman of People’s Committee of Dong Hoi city Hoàng Ngọc Đan, and attended by representatives of concerning offices and communes/wards in the provincial city.
On the same day, the delegation of the provincial religious committee also had exchanges with the authorities of Duc Ninh Dong Ward of Dong Hoi on the implementation of legal provisions on religion in the locality.
As reported, Dong Hoi provincial city in Quang Binh is currently home to over 600 Catholic followers under Tam Toa parish in Nam Ly ward and more than 700 Buddhists belonging to Dai Giac and Pho Minh pagodas in Duc Ninh Dong ward.
The inspection is part of a plan approved by the home affairs department in Quang Binh for checking the implementation of law provisions on religion in 2020, especially the Law on Belief and Religion, including results and difficulties in the implementation process of legal provisions and recommendations for solving remaining issues in Dong Hoi.
