Ho Chi Minh City honors 33 religious volunteers in COVID-19 fight

Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in collaboration with the municipal Party Commission for Mass Mobilization and Committee for Religious Affairs held on October 15 a ceremony for honoring 33 religious volunteers who have worked side by side with medical staff at the COVID-19 intensive care centre under Bach Mai Hospital.  

The event saw the presence of Vice Chairwoman of the municipal VFF Phan Kiều Thanh Hương, Vice Chairman of the city Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Lượng and Priest Joseph Đào Nguyên Vũ, Chief of the office of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam.

Addressing at the event, Vice Chairwoman Phan Kiều Thanh Hương highly appreciated services made by religious volunteers in fighting against Covid-19 pandemic in the city.

On the occasion, the municipal VFF presented certificates of commendation and gifts to the 33 religious volunteers.

To date, 396 religious volunteers have been completed their voluntary services supporting frontline forces in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic at hospitals in the city.
