Hai Phong, Thai Binh cancel Tet festivals due to Covid-19 epidemic

Hai Phong municipal People’s Committee announced on February 02 the canceling of Lunar New Year (Tet)’s festivals in the city, due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the announcement, Hai Phong will give only one single fireworks show in Do Son district, instead of 12 as previously planned, in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The municipal People’s Committee also asked for the canceling of traditional festivals of the city and cultural, art, and sports activities with large gatherings, during Tet 2021.

On the same day, Thai Binh provincial People’s Committee also announced to suspend Tran temple festival 2021 in the province, which is usually held on the 13th of the first Lunar month at the temple and tombs of Tran Kings special national relic site, located in Hung Ha district’s Tien Duc commune in the province.
