A program “Green Sunday” was implemented by the Quang Binh provincial youth union on July 22 in Quang Phuc ward of Ba Don provincial city – a locality with 85 % of the local residents being followers of Catholicism.
The program is part of activities responding to the campaign “Summer Youth Volunteers and commemorating the 71st anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day.
The program activities included the planning of trees, renovation of community facilities, cleaning of public areas, and charity visits to families of wounded and fallen soldiers in the locality, including the Catholic family of Fallen Martyr Trần Văn Phương in Don Sa street and under Dan Sa parish.
Quang Phuc ward is currently home to 1,893 Catholic households with over 9,600 people presently practicing the religion at six Catholic communities under two parishes of Dan Sa and Tan My.
