Friendly football competition amongst religious and authorities teams opens in Da Nang

The Committee for Religious Affairs in Da Nang city held on July 25 a opening ceremony for a friendly football competition amongst teams of local religions and municipal authorities.

Attending the competition’s opening ceremony included Chairman of the municipal religious committee Ngô Khôi, representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s committee in the city, the municipal commission for mass mobilization, the municipal police and district-level home affairs offices in the city.

Joining the friendly football competition included eight teams from the municipal police, the municipal religious committee and district-level home affairs offices, Da Nang Diocese, the United World Mission Church, the Spiritual Council of the Baha'i Community, the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) and the Missionary Caodai Church in the city.

This is the second competition hosted by the municipal religious committee on occasion of the 63rd founding anniversary of the state management on religion with the aim to promote fine relations between local religions and authorities, as well as enhance the exchange and unity amongst religious organizations in the locality.

The friendly competition will run until July 28.
