Nghe An provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held a conference on May 4 for disseminating policies and laws to Buddhist monastics in the province.
The event saw the presence of Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lưu Công Vinh, representatives from the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee, and over 200 Buddhist monks and nuns from pagodas and temples in the locality.
During the event, participating Buddhists learnt about the State’s policies and laws, including the Law on Belief and Religion 2016, legal provisions on management and usage of religion-related land.
According to the statistics 2019, Nghe An province has 63 legal Buddhist worshipping places with about 96,000 Buddhists, including 90 monks and nuns. The VBS established the provincial executive committee and the district-level executive board in Vinh city and districts of Quynh Luu and Nam Dan.
