As many as 110 key followers of religions in Tien Giang province’s My Tho city have participated in a meeting held on November 23 for disseminating the new law on belief and religion.
The meeting was held by Tien Giang provincial committee for religious affairs in My Tho city, in collaboration with organizations of Buddhism, Catholicism, five Protestant sects, Islam, four Caodai sects, Minh Su Faith and Pure-land Buddhism practiced in the city.
The dissemination meeting focused on key contents of the law on belief and religion enacted last November, including the necessity and principles for enactment of the law, the law’s new points as compared with the Ordination on Belief and Religion 2004, as well as specific articles that most practical to the religious life in My Tho city, such as the registration for collective religious practicing places, religious practices by foreigners living in the Vietnam, ordainment and appointment of religious dignitaries and deacons, making denouncement and complain relating religion, etc.
