Dissemination of religious law to Buddhist monks, nuns in Ha Noi

About 50 Buddhist monks and nuns participating in the summer retreat course held in Vien Minh pagoda in Hanoi city’s Phu Xuyen district attended on July 31 a session on the Law on Belief and Religion.

The event was held by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s committee in Ha Noi city in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive committee in the city.

During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Head of the advisory council for religious affairs under the VFF’s municipal committee Ngô Hữu Thảo introduced key contents of the Law on Belief and Religion, as well as the government decree No.162 on detailing a number of articles and providing measures for the implementation of the Law. Prof. Dr. Ngô Hữu Thảo also delivered presentation on environment protection and climate change response.

As of July 31, the municipal VFF’s committee has organized the same disseminating program for Buddhist monks, nuns and followers participating in 18 Buddhist summer retreat schools in the city.
