The Committee for Religious Affairs in Bac Ninh held on October 2 a conference on the new law on belief & religious for the key Catholic followers in the province.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Head of Home Affairs Department Trần Trung Chính, representatives of the committee for solidarity of Catholics in the province officials and about 200 dignitaries, deacons and followers of Catholicism in locality.
The one-day event covered main contents of the Law on Belief and Religious 2016 and Decree 162 dated on December 2017 guiding the implementation of the new belief and religious law.
Catholicism was introduced in Bac Ninh from 18th century, and in 1883 Bac Ninh diocese was established. Bac Ninh is currently home to over 16,000 Catholics with 38 worshipping facilities.
