Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng extends Vesak greetings to Central VBS

Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry Vũ Chiến Thắng paid on May 30 a visit to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), on the occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2023 (B.E. 2567).

Accompanying with the Deputy Minister included Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc.

Welcoming the deputy minister at Quan Su pagoda in Hanoi included Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council Thích Thanh Nhiễu.

During the visit, while extending Vesak greetings to Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu and all Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng highlighted practical contributions made by the VBS in social charities over the past years, and expressed hope that the central VBS would continue joining hands with local governments in encouraging lay followers to engage in movements launched by social-political organizations in localities.

Speaking with the guests, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu took the chance to thank the Home Affairs Ministry and the GCRA’s offcials for their visit on the occasion of Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2023, and affirmed that the VBS would continue promoting the tradition of accompanying the nation and the solidarity, proactively engaging in patriotic movements, contributing to socio-economic development in the country.
