Death anniversary of great scholar Đào Duy Từ commemorated

Local authorities in Thanh Hoa province on November 13 visited and offered incense to great scholar Dao Duy Tu at his temple on occasion of his 385th death anniversary.

Đào Duy Từ (1572 – 1634) was born in No Giap village, Nguyen Binh commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa. He was a well-known Vietnamese scholar, poet, military adviser, and mandarin who served under the reign of Nguyễn lord Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên.

Dao Duy Tu temple located in Tinh Gia district’s Nguyen Binh commune was recognized as national relic site by the ministry of culture, sports and tourism in 2002.

The ceremony commemorating the 385th death anniversary of scholar Đào Duy Từ aimed to honor great contributions of the scholar in the fields of military, politics and culture.
