The movement for developing cultural worshipping places in Tien Giang province’s Cho Gao district has been carried out for many years. Local religious dignitaries have encouraged followers and local people to actively join the movemnent in the district. During 10 years of implementation, many encouraging results have been recorded.
So far, Cho Gao district has 76 cultural worshipping places. In 2017, four new places were awarded the title “cultural worshipping places” and 72 places re-attained this title.
Long Hoi pagoda located in Tan Thuan Binh commune was originally built in the late 18th century on an area of 4,600 m2, and has been upgraded many times. After meeting all criteria of a cultural worshipping place, the currently spacious pagoda has been awarded the cultural worshipping title by Tan Thuan commune People's Committee on March this year.
Phuoc Buu pagoda located in Thanh Hoa village, An Thanh Thuy district was awarded the title “cultural worshipping place” in July 2015. In the past years, religious practices and social activities by the pagoda practically contributed to promote cultural lifestyles in the locality. Every year since 2015, the pagoda has been honored as the cultural worshipping place.
