Central ethnic cultural festival 2021 postponed

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued on August 2 a dispatch officially informing the suspension of the 4th Central Ethnic Cultural Festival 2021 expected to be held in Binh Dinh province.  

In the dispatch No. 2716 dated August 2 sent to the provincial-level People’s Committee in provinces and cities of Binh Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien – Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan, the culture, sports and tourism ministry decided not to hold the 4th Central Ethnic Cultural Festival in order to strictly observe  preventive measures against current Covid-19 pandemic contributing to reduce risks of the pandemic’s spread in localities.

The culture, sports and tourism ministry also informed that it would further collaborate with the provincial People’s Committee of Binh Dinh to choose the appropriate timing for the festival organization the coming time.

Early, the culture, sports and tourism ministry issued on March 4 a decision on the organization of the 4th Central Ethnic Cultural Festival expected to be held in the third quarter of this year.

The cultural festival aimed to celebrate fine traditions and cultural identities of ethnic groups in the central of Vietnam, contributing to preserve traditional values and enhance the cultural life of ethnic peoples in Vietnam Central. The festival is expected to feature traditional art performances, displays of ethnic traditional costumes and customs, as well as folk games and sports, etc.
