Ba Don provincial city in Quang Binh currently has 37,000 followers of Catholicism residing in 14 out of 16 wards and communes in the city.
To implement the movement for building new-style rural & urban areas, the womens union in the city developed in 2018 a pilot model for encouraging Catholic women to live “good secular and religious” life in Catholic concentrated areas in the locality.
The model has been successfully implemented in five communes of Quang Tien, Quang Long, Quang Minh, Quang Loc and Quang Hoa in Ba Don provincial city.
The women association of these localities were committed to joining movements for environmental protection, religious harmony and social cohesion in localities.
Though the model the local women associations also contributed to strengthen the unity between Catholics and non-Catholics in the locality.
