The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Binh Dinh province held on October 10 a meeting with typical religious dignitaries to honor their contributions to national unity in the locality in 2017.
The meeting saw the participation of Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lê Kim Toàn, Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Phan Phi Hổ and about 150 typical religious dignitaries representing religious organizations of Buddhism, Catholism, Protestantism, sects of Caodaism, Hoa Hao Buddhism and Minh Su faith in the locality.
Overview of the meeting
As reported at the event, Binh Dinh province is home to over 173,000 religious followers, accounting for about 11.44% of the local population. Over the past years, religious organizations in the locality well operated in the spirit of harmony and unity, contributing to consolidate the great national unity bloc.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary Lê Kim Toàn called on religious dignitaries and deacons to encourage followers to proactively join in social movements promoting the national unity and socio-economic development in the locality.
Presenting certificates of merit to religious individuals and groups
On the occasion, the VFF in Binh Dinh province presented certificates of merit to 14 religious individuals and six religious groups for their outstanding contributions to national unity over the past year.
