Ba Ria Vung Tau authorities held on May 21 a meeting with local religious dignitaries on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday (known as Vesak Day) 2018 (B.E. 2562).
The event saw the participation of Chairman of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyễn Văn Đồng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Văn Tuấn and a large number of religious dignitaries from Buddhism, Caodaism, Pure-land Buddhist Association, Buu Son Ky Huong faith, Minh Ly faith, and Minh Su faith in the locality.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman Trần Văn Tuấn extended happy celebrations of the Vesak festival to the Buddhist church and religious sects that worship the Buddha in the locality and highlighted practical contributions of the religious organizations in the province.
He also called on religious dignitaries to further encourage local followers to proactively take part in local movements for socio-economic development in the locality.
