Over the past years, an action program titled “Armed forces of Long An province accompany with religious community” has obtained practical results, contributing to maintain political stability and promote sustainable socio-economic development of the province.
Besides building charity houses, the provincial military command in collaboration with the home affairs department have implemented practical activities, including training conferences for disseminating knowledge of national defense and security to local Buddhist monks, nuns and lay people; calling citizens to join the army, organizing many social activities, and facilitating congratulatory visits to religious dignitaries and lay people on occasion of important religious events.
The provincial military command and the provincial VBS’s executive committee have together conducted free health-check and distributions of medicines as well as presented gifts to beneficial families and poor households in Thanh Phuoc commune, Thanh Hoa district.
Moreover, the provincial military command in collaboration with concerning agencies handed over a cultural and sport center with the area of 200 m2 for parishioners of Tan An Catholic parish in Tan An city.
The provincial VBS’s executive committee also presented 300 million VND to soldiers and people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the remote areas.
The provincial military and the provincial VBS’s executive committee have signed a coordination agreement for the 2020-2025 period, promoting the coordination in disseminating knowledge of national defense and security to local Buddhist dignitaries and lay people, social charities for pupils with difficult circumstances, the elders, disabled people, etc in the locality.
