The delegation accompanied by Deputy Director of the provincial Home Affairs Department cum Chairman of the provincial Religious Affairs Committee Nguyễn Phú was welcomed by Chairman of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Executive Committee Nguyễn Tấn Đạt.

During the visit, while extending congratulations to deacons and members of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church on occasion of its 82^nd founding anniversary, Secretary Lê Hồng Quang highly appreciated practical contributions made by the Hoa Hao Buddhist community to the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and social charity work over the last year.

As reported, in the first six months of 2021, the total value of social charities of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Churh reached over 40 billion VND in An Giang province and over 209 billion VND in the whole country.

Secretary Lê Hồng Quang also expressed hope that the Hoa Hao Buddhist Executive Committee would continue guiding followers to well implement the church’s programs set out during the 2019-2024 tenure, proactively participating in local patriotic emulation movements, and strictly implementing measures for the Covid-19 prevention as recommended by the Ministry of Health in the current pandemic situation.

Historically, Hoa Hao Buddhism was found by Founder Huỳnh Phú Sổ on the 18^th of the fifth lunar month in 1939.
