Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in the Vietnamese community in Laos gathered in Bang Long pagoda located in Vientiane on March 7 for peace prayers.
The ceremony saw the participation of Venerable Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council cum the fifth Abbot of Bang Long pagoda Thích Thọ Lạc, representatives from Vietnam Embassy in Laos and Vietnamese Buddhists in Vientiane.
During the ceremony, Vietnamese Buddhists followers in Vientiane practiced Buddhist rituals together to pray for peace and prosperity in the country and the world.
At the end of the religious rituals, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers participated in a bird releasing ceremony and enjoyed vegetarian meals together.
Bang Long Pagoda was built by Most Venerable Thích Tố Liên in 1942. This pagoda is one of largest temples in Vientiane where Vietnamese Buddhists in Laos conduct regular Buddhist practices as well as activities for preserving the traditional culture.
