Vietnamese costumes for Mother Goddess worship introduced in Europe

A Collection of costumes for Mother Goddess worship will be displayed in European countries, including Germany, France, Belgium, and Netherlands in September.

The program displaying the collection of costumes for Mother Goddess worship will be held in September within the framework of activities to persuade the UNESCO to recognize Vietnam’s Mother Goddess worship as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. It is known that these activities will include torch relay and art performances.

 

The Organizing Committee said: to ensure the quality of program aimed at  bringing to international friends the most comprehensive look at traditional arts in Vietnam, they have selected meritorious artists, famous singers such Xuan Ba, Thu Hang, Hoang Long, Khac Tu, Hieu Phuong ... with top musicians of the Central Traditional Operetta Theatre. As for the collection of costumes for Mother Goddess worship, the Organizing Committee has invited fashion designers Mai Tran, who had created the Vietnam style costumes for Mother Goddess worship based on the beauty of traditional costumes. Besides, instead of using professional models, the Organizing Committee will only choose people who have necessary experiences and capacities in the Mother Goddess worship in order to precisely convey the message of the collection. It is noteworthy that the torch relay in ceremony will begin its journey from Hung King Temple in Phu Tho province.

The program introducing Vietnam’s Mother Goddess worship in the European countries in September is not only an activity to persuade the UNESCO to recognize Vietnam’s Mother Goddess worship as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, but also an opportunity for Vietnam to show its image, land and people as well as its traditional culture to international friends.
