Vietnamese community in Laos celebrates Vesak 2017

The Buddhist monks, nuns and followers at Bang Long pagoda and Vietnamese community in Laos held a ceremony in the pagoda to celebrate the Vesak Day 2017 in Vientiane.

During the ceremony, Buddhist dignitaries and Vietnamese and Laos followers performed Buddhist rituals together to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.

Bàng Long Pagoda was built by Most Venerable Thích Tố Liên in 1942. This pagoda and Phat Tich pagoda are the two largest temples in Vientiane where Vietnamese Buddhists in Laos conduct regular Buddhist practices and activities for preserving the traditional culture.
