Vietnam, Laos enhance experience on mass mobilization

The Central Committee’s Commission on Mass Mobilisation in collaboration with the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC)’s Central Committee held on September 4 a conference in Hanoi to exchange experiences on mass mobilization work.

The event was co-chaired by Head of the Central Committee’s Commission on Mass Mobilisation Trương Thị Mai and President of the  Lao Front for National Construction Saysomphone Phomvihane and attended by representatives from central ministries and agencies, and leaders from 20 provinces of Vietnam and Laos.

The conference stressed the significance of mass mobilization works in bordering regions to the socio-economic development in each country and discussed specific collaborating plans, including effective people- to-people external relations, close coordination between the border provinces of two countries, personnel training to meet requirements of mass mobilization works in both sides and collaboration in building regulations, strengthening inspection of mass mobilization, ethnic and religious affairs in the bordering regions.

As stated at the event, the two sides will effectively implement joint statements, high-level agreements, and cooperation plans between the two Governments and the two agencies.

The boundary between Vietnam and Laos is approximately 2,337 km long, going through 125 communes of 36 districts in 10 provinces of Vietnam and 10 provinces of Laos.
