Vietnam Home Affairs Ministry receives Medal, Certificates of Merit from Lao PDR

Lao People’s Democratic Republic awarded Medal and Certificate of Merit to several departments and individuals under the Vietnam Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) for their contributions in the construction of Lao’s National Archives centre at a ceremony held at the headquarter of the MOHA on April 6.

The event was organized on occasion of a working visit by a delegation from Home Affairs Ministry of Lao PDR led by Minister of Laos MOHA Saysy Santyvong to Vietnam from April 5 - 8, 2015.

Attending the ceremony included Minister of Vietnam Home Affairs Ministry Nguyễn Thái Bình; General Director of the State Records Management and Archives Department of Vietnam; and representatives of departments, individuals to receive Medal and Certificate of Merit.

During the meeting, the representative of Laos National Archives centre (LNAC) shared that the LNCA has been effective operating and preserving national archives of historical values. The LNAC has been completed on an area of 1,200m2 with installed cameras, internet, offices, a 70-seat meeting room and other facilities. The total construction cost was over 58 billion VND, in which Vietnam granted 53 billion VND in aid.

Speaking at this event, Deputy Minister of MOHA Trần Anh Tuấn, on behalf of Vietnamese MOHA thanked to the Laos’ Party, Government and MOHA for noble awards. He affirmed that the Vietnam MOHA would further promote close coordination with Laos MOHA.
