Vietnam, Cambodia exchange experiences in religious affairs

An exchange conference on religious affairs was held by the Vietnamese Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Cambodian Ministry of Religions and Cults in the province of An Giang on January 7.  

The event was co-chaired by Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng and Deputy Secretary of State at the Cambodian religions and cults ministry Min Chandyneth. 

The conference is taking place within a cooperation agreement on religious affairs signed between the Vietnamese Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Cambodian Ministry of Religions and Cults on February 2, 2015. Prior to this conference, the two sides had held six visiting exchanges of high-ranking delegations, three exchange conferences on religious affairs and one minister-level conference on religious affairs between bordering provinces of the two countries. 

Addressing the event, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng said that in the context of fine developments in friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, the relationship between the two central agencies in charge of state governance on religions has been consolidated, gaining multiple and practical results.

The conference is taking place until January 10 and an opportunity for the two sides to share their experience and practical lessons on the state governance on religion, contributing to improve the administration capacity and efficiency in the field, as well as maintain social stability and development in the two countries of Vietnam and Cambodia.
