Vietnam Buddhist representatives attend 14th Summit of World Young Buddhist Monks Council

The 14th Summit of World Young Buddhist Monks Council with the theme “Buddhist leadership for sustainable peace” took place at Pallekele, Kundasale and Matale of Sri Lanka on October 29-30.

The event attracted young Buddhist leaders from 59 countries including three Buddhist representatives from Vietnam.

The three Vietnamese monks Venerable Thích Đồng Tâm, Monk Pháp Hạnh and Venerable Thích Thiện Đạt brought to the annual summit three presentations with themes of “Tea meditation in the Mahayana Buddhist culture”, “Vietnam Theravada Buddhism in the context of integration and development” and “Research on meditation method for children”.

The two-day summit was presided over by General Secretary of World Buddhist Sangha Youth - WBSY cum Chief Minister of the Central Province of Sri LankaSarth Ekanayake on October 29, and by Sri Lanka's President  Maithripala Sirisena in Matale on October 30.
