The political officer from the US Embassy in Hanoi David Muehlke led a delegation to visit the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) at its headquarters in Hanoi on November 18.
Welcoming the delegation included Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS’ Executive Committee Thích Gia Quang, Venerable General Secretary of VBS’ Executive Committee Thích Đức Thiện and Venerable Deputy Chief of the VBS’ Northern Office Thích Thanh Huân.
At the reception, Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang briefed the guests about the history of Buddhism in Vietnam as well as the VBS’s activities over the past years.
Speaking at the visiting reception, Mr. David Muehlke thanked the VBS for its warm welcome and information on the VBS history and current development.
