The executive board of the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Hungary made its formal debut during the Thuong Nguyen ceremony at Tue Giac pagoda in Budapest on March 2.
The ceremony annual organized the 15th day of the Lunar Year saw with the attendance of Most Venerable Member of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Bảo, Head of Zen sect in Hungary Dobsy Antal, Principal of the Dharma Gate Buddhist College Jelen Janos, members of Hungarian Buddhist Church, representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Hungary, and over 250 Vietnamese Buddhists in the country.
Executive board of VINABUDH makes its debut
During the event, the executive board of the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Hungary (VINABUDHA) made its debut with 15 members led by Mr. Pham Văn Khuê. The VINABUDHA is the first legal association of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hungary recognized by the country government.
Speaking at the event, Head of Zen sect in Hungary Dobsy Antal and leaders of Hungarian Buddhist Church expressed hope that the two Buddhist Churches would promote exchanges on practices of Buddhism between Vietnamese Buddhists in Hungary and Hungarian Buddhists.
Later, Buddhists and delegates performed Buddhist rituals of the New Year's prayer for peace and happiness for people.
