Vatican Archbishop visits Hue Archdiocese

On November 10, Archbishop Secretary of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life José Rodriguez Carballo led a delegation to visit Hue Archbishopric Cathedral and congregations in Hue city. 

At the Pastoral Center of Hue Archdiocese, Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese Lê Văn Hồng welcomed the delegation.

Then, the delegation met with Hue diocese’s clergy where Priest Anthony Huỳnh Đầy, Superior General of Congregation of the Sacred heart of Hue briefed about the current situation of congregations in Hue. He also informed that the congregations in Thua Thien Hue province currently have 941 religious; 133 trainees; 90 pre-novices and 400 followers of four congregations under the diocese and five congregations under the Pope.

After that, Archbishop Secretary of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated life and the Societies of Apostolic Life José Rodriguez Carballo and members from the Vietnam Union of Superiors General’s Executive Committee attended the mass that was presided over by the Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese.

Later, the delegation visited the Centre for Pilgrimage Lady of La Vang and the construction of the Basilica of Our Lady of La Vang.

The delegation also visited the congregations in Hue city such as the Daughters of Our Lady of the Visitation, Daughters of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Kim Long charitable clinic, the Order of Discalced Carmelites, Lovers of the Holy Cross of Hue and Thien An monastery.
