On June 27, Most Venerable Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council Thích Gia Quang hosted a reception for visiting Political Officer of the United States Embassy in Hanoi David Muehke at the end of his working tenure in Vietnam.
Speaking at reception, Mr. David Muehke shared the U.S. government’s and his own interest in religious freedom and development in Vietnam, as well as roles of State authorities in creating favorable conditions for religious organizations in the fields of education, healthcare, social charity and international cooperation.
He also expressed hope that exchanges and cooperation in religion in general and Buddhism in particular between Vietnam and the U.S will be promoted, contributing to the development of the bilateral relation and cooperation between the two countries.
