Thai Buddhist delegation visits VBS’s Southern Office

A delegation led by Phra Sophonvachiraphorn, Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, visited the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Southern Office in Ho Chi Minh City on September 10.

Joining the delegation included representatives of the religious department under the Ministry of Culture of Thailand

Welcoming the delegation included Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Standing Vice President of the VBS executive council; Seniour Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Vice President cum General Secretary of the VBS executive council and; Most Venerable Thích Huệ Thông, Deputy General Secretary of the VBS Executive Council cum Chief of the VBS’s Southern Office.

During the reception meeting, Most Venerable President Thích Thiện Nhơn shared about the UN Vesak Day 2019 to be hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Church and expressed hope that the Buddhist sangha of Thailand will pass on good experiences in organizing important international Buddhist events, contributing to help Vietnam Buddhist Sangha successfully host the UN Vesak for the third time next year.
