New Indian Ambassador to Vietnam pays visits Vietnam Buddhist Sangha leaders

Ambassador of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya paid on February 17 courtesy calls on Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng, Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) at Hue Nghiem Pagoda in Thu Duc city, and Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, President of the VBS’s Executive Council at Minh Dao pagoda in District 3 of Ho Chi Minh city.

During the visits, Ambassador Sandeep Arya had exchanges with the VBS dignitaries on his new position to Vietnam and vowed to make practical contributions for boosting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India, including the cultural and spiritual field in the two countries

He also expressed that he would do his best in creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese monks and nuns to study Buddhism in India, and for Vietnamese students to receive scholarships from the Indian government.

For his part, Most Venerable Patriarch Thích Trí Quảng congratulated Mr. Sandeep Arya on being entrusted with the task of being the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam. He also expressed his delight at the proposals to enhance cultural and educational cooperation between the VBS and Indian side.
