A delegation led by Most Venerable Yoshimizu Daichi, former Chairman of the Japanese Pure-Land Buddhist Church, visited the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Southern Office in Ho Chi Minh City on November 28.
Welcoming the delegation included Most Venerable President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn.
During the reception meeting, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn exchanged with the guests relations between Buddhism in Vietnam and Japan. The Most Venerable took the chance to thank the Japanese Pure Land Buddhist Church for supports extended to the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Japan over the past years.
Most Venerable Yoshimizu Daichi expressed hope that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha would create favorable conditions for religious practices by Japanese monks and nuns in Vietnam.
According to Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, oversea Vietnamese community in Japan has currently 300,000 people.
