International conference “Religion and the Rule of Law: Towards a Harmonious Relationship in the Era of Globalization” to take place online

Online international conference “Religion and the Rule of Law: Towards a Harmonious Relationship in the Era of Globalization” will take place on 28-29 September, 2021.

 

The international conference would be co-organized by the School of Law, Vietnam National University Hanoi (LS-VNU), Vietnam; the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE), United States; the International Center for Law and Religion Studies, The J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University (ICLRS), United States; Faith Centre, London School of Economy (LSE Faith Centre), United Kingdom; and Vietnam-USA Society of the Vietnam Union of Friendship organizations (VUFO), Vietnam.

The conference will take place online via the Zoom Meetings platform, and will be hosted by the School of Law under the Vietnam National University in Hanoi.

The conference will cover a wide range of topics, including concepts, characteristics, manifestations and significance of the harmonious relationship between religion and the rule of law; concepts, characteristics, manifestations, causes and consequences of the conflicts between religion and the rule of law; impact of globalization on the relationship between religion and the rule of law; international human rights standards related to the relationship between religion and the rule of law; and, country/region experiences and best practices in preventing the conflicts and promoting the harmonious relationship between religion and the rule of law. 

Expected participants at the international event include academic researchers, emerging scholars in religious studies, law and religion and rule of law related fields, policy advisors, policy makers, government officials working on religious affairs, and faith leaders./.
