A high-ranking delegation of Home Affairs Ministry led by Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà paid a working visit to Laos from March 25-27. Joining the delegation included Chairman of Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Hoài Bắc.

During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister of Lao Sonexay Siphandone and had meetings with Minister of Lao Home Affairs Thongchanh Manixay, the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee under the Laos Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration.
At the reception for the Vietnam delegation on March 26, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone highlighted the cooperation achievements between the two-side Ministries of Home Affairs, as well as the importance of organizational structure towards streamlining, efficiency and effectiveness.
Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà shared with the Lao Prime Minister about results of implementing tasks assigned by the Lao Government to the Ministry of Home Affairs of the two countries over the last years. She also affirmed Vietnam's commitment to successfully implement cooperation programs between Vietnam and Laos in the coming time.

Earlier, on March 25, the delegation of the Vietnam Home Affairs Ministry had a meeting with the Laos Ministry of Home Affairs.
During the event, the two sides discussed and agreed on key coordination programs for the 2024-2026 period, including rotating exchange of high-ranking delegations of the two countries' Home Affairs Ministry, sending Vietnamese experts to support the Laos Home Affairs Ministry in developing legal documents relating to home affairs, strengthening the training and fostering for cadres and civil servants tasked with public administration and archives, state governing on belief and religion, emulation and commendation affairs, and state organization science, and supporting Laos in building a digital transformation project of the home affairs sector.
