Hanoi city: Training program on religion and rule of law opens

The University of Social Science and Humanities (USSH at Vietnam National University Hanoi) in partnership with the Brigham Young University (US) and the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) hosted a ten-day training program on religion and the rule of law in Hanoi city, Vietnam, from 14-23 September, 2015.

Attending the training program included Director of the International Center for Law and Religion Studies of the Brigham Young University Wayne Cole Durham, former President of the IGE Chris Seiple, President of the IGE John Patrick Gallagher, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Trịnh Ngọc Thạch, Chief of Office of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Dương Văn Khá, researchers and training’s participants.

The program has about 70 participants, including officials with expertise in religion, jurisprudence, political science, social management, philosophy, cultural studies from different agencies and regions of Vietnam.

This is the fourth training program on religion and the rule of law ever held in Vietnam under a cooperation agreement signed by USSH and US partners.
