Government religious committee receives LDS delegation

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Hoài Bắc hosted on April 8 a reception on November 10 for a delegation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) led by President of the LDS Church in Asia region, Elder David P. Homer.

Overview of the reception

Joining the reception included Head of the LDS Church’s Coordination Committee Hoàng Văn Tùng, Chief of the GCRA’s Office Nguyễn Văn Long, Director of the GCRA’s International Relation Department Nguyễn Phong Thịnh and Director of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương.

During the reception, while extending congratulations to the GCRA’s new Chairman, President of the LDS Church in Asia region, Elder David P. Homer took the chance to share with the host the Church’s activities over the past years. He also affirmed that the LDS Church always encourages its members to respect traditions and laws of host countries.
On the occasion, President Elder Homer extended an invitation to visit the headquarters of LDS Church located in Utah, United State at an appropriate time to Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc.
GCRA Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc thanked the Vietnam LDS Church’s delegation for the visit and congratulation. He spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Church in Vietnam including programs providing clean water, English teaching, and humanitarian assistance.
The Chairman expressed hope that the LDS Church in Vietnam would continue expanding social and charitable projects supporting disadvantaged people and the Covid-19 prevention work. 
Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc took the chance to thank President of the LDS Church in Asia region for his invitations to visit the headquarters of LDS Church.
