Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà received a delegation from the Methodist Theological School from Ohio (MTSO) led by Prof. Park Joon Sik.
During the reception, Prof. Park Joon Sik informed the host purpose of the delegation visit to Vietnam which aimed to learn about the religious life and state administration on belief and religion.

Speaking with the guests, Dr. Bùi Thanh Hà briefed the guests on the current religious life in the country as well as policies and laws of Vietnam State on belief and religion and stated about 95% of the population has certain forms spiritual worshipping. The multi-religion country of Vietnam now has 14 religions with 43 religious organizations and about 25 million followers (accounting for 27 % of Vietnam population). The Vice Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State always respect and guarantee the right to freedom of belief and religion for every Vietnamese.
Regarding to the Law on Belief and Religion adopted by the National Assembly of Vietnam on November 18, 2016, the GCRA Vice Chairman affirmed that the new law has complied with the provisions of the Constitution 2013 and the international conventions which Vietnam is a member.
