Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn hosted on March 14 a reception for a visiting delegation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) led by Elder Gary E. Stevenson, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Joining the reception included Elder President of the LDS Church in Asia region Randy D. Funk and Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Vietnam LDS Church Hoàng Văn Tùng.

During the reception, Elder Gary E. Stevenson shared with the hosts social, charitable activities of the LDS Church in Vietnam and in the world. According to the apostle, the Church has contributed about $ 22 billion to charity programs carried out in 198 countries worldwide, including over 300 charitable projects in Vietnam.
The apostle of the LDS church also took a chance to thank the GCRA for favorable conditions extended to the LDS Church in Vietnam over the past years.
Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn acknowledged contributions of the LDS Church to social charities in Vietnam and expressed for continuous humanitarian assistance from the church to Vietnam.
