GCRA leader receives new Sri Lanka Ambassador to Vietnam

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng hosted a reception on November 07 for Sri Lanka Ambassador Sampath Prasanna Walpita Gamage on occasion of his new mission to Vietnam.  

Joining the reception included representatives of the GCRA’s office, and departments for international relations and Buddhism affairs.

During the reception, Chaiman Vũ Chiến Thắng shared with the guest about the religious life in Vietnam and the state policy for respect and protection of religious freedom in Vietnam. He also expressed hope for more opportunities to cooperate and exchange experiences in the state management on belief and religion between Vietnam and Sri Lanka in the coming time.

The new Sri Lankan Ambassador thanked the GCRA’s Chairman for the warm welcome and extended congratulations to Vietnam on the successful organization of the UN Day of Vesak 2019.

Ambassador Sampath Prasanna Walpita Gamage informed the host on activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Sri Lanka - Vietnam diplomatic relations (July 21, 1970 - July 21, 2020). He also expressed hope to receive support and cooperation of the GCRA during his term of office in Vietnam.
